Paediatrics and Child Health Association has developed standard patient mastercards to improve how health facilities record and use patient information. Before this, many facilities used different paper tools, which caused missing data, poor follow-up, and difficulties in tracking patients over time.
The mastercards were created to solve these problems by providing one standard way to record patient details, treatment, and outcomes. This will help improve data quality and patient follow-up
In December 2025, PACHA team held a two-day workshop at Sunbird KuChawe in Zomba to finalize the mastercards. They reviewed drafts and used feedback from trainers and technical partners to make the tools practical and easy to use.
The mastercards will now be submitted to the Ministry of Health and the Central Monitoring and Evaluation Division for validation. After approval, they will be rolled out to health facilities, and health workers will be oriented on how to use them.
